Misconceptions about the visually impaired::

o It is not true they only see black! If a blind person completely doesn't see since birth then he cannot see or distinguish colors , not even the black color. And if he still has some sight residues, he then can distinguish light from darkness and thus can see other than the black color.

o It is not correct that they have stronger hearing sense. What is correct is that they depend drastically on their hearing sense this is why it becomes trained and used precisely and massively.

o It is incorrect that they live in the Blind universe! They live like us in this world. Isolation policies have greatly contributed in establishing this misconception.

o It is not true that they are identical in everything! People tend to standardize the blind based on their knowledge of one blind person. That is if they know one blind beggar then they all are and if they know one blind musician, they all are as talented. What is correct is that even though they share one disability, they differ like the rest of the community members.

o It is not true they tend to love isolation and communication only with the blind! They have the ability to live among community members and be independent like any sighted person.
